PN minions have instigated a new tradition in our Country, namely ‘blame it on Dr. Sant’; and this time round I have to admit they are spot on in their claims, and on two grounds!
Firstly PN’s strategy in contrast with MLP’s, is to first put a rumour around the country of what is to come, give time for the people to let it off between themselves, then legislate something that is slightly less than what rumours were saying. Thus PN gets to look as a benevolent leader. Smart ain’t it?!! On the other hand the MLP are victims of their own beliefs in honesty.
It was Dr. Sant who first hammered on us a raise to our electricity bill, while PN governments rode on his wave.
Dr. Sant failed to keep one of his major promises that were on top of his agenda. Dr. Sant never implemented the ‘accountability’ policy.
Indeed if Dr. Sant had legislated this agenda of his, many PN officials would now be paying for our bills. It was the MISTAKE OF THE CENTURY to stop our hedging agreement on oil with Libya. Every major company and government has hedging agreements, but the PN were smarter. Remember what they told us: that this change in policy was to take advantage of the fluctuation in oil prices. Since when did oil prices fluctuate on the downside? Even a schoolboy studying elementary economics knows that the prices of oil, gold, silver and copper never go down!
Therefore it is Dr. Sant’s fault that we are suffering under the PN regime. First he was too honest in his outright raise of the prices of electricity and in doing so paved the road for the PN’s arrogance. Secondly having not implemented the ‘accountability’ policy we have nobody to take to court for mis-managing our country.
