A Prayer

Every Morning when I wake up, I thank all thee to whom I owe my life.

I thank my government for giving me another day of strife.

I thank my government for all the taxes I pay,

For which nothing in return I get at the end of the day.

I thank the government for all the NI money I’ve put in his urn,

From which I never got any tangible return,

Nor any chance I have of getting any,

When my years are so many.

I thank the government for managing my road licence so well,

For without such management I would not be driving in such hell.

Nor would I be able to hear his minions on the media

Preaching his word right out of his dictated encyclopaedia.

I thank my government for showing me light from dark,

For giving me the eye to discern between man and shark,

For giving me the courage, giving me the spark,

To fight against his arrogance and all moguls that bear his mark.

I hope your prayer is listened because it is always nice to thank for everything we have, and now that you mention, it is also a good idea to thank for everything we don't have too.
